- To summarize the basic chronological history of the Indigenous in Canada from 1492 to 1812;
- Activity: A card game to understand the effects of neglect and silence.
- Continued Chronological History 1812 to 2019;
- Complete card game;
- Activity: The students research each card topic in depth.
- Indigenous Activism;
- To summarize some social injustices the Indigenous endured from 1535 to 2020 and to highlight the Indigenous were always activists despite the repressive propaganda of Euro-Canadians.
- Residential Schools;
- Residential Schools disrupted Indigenous roles in Indigenous community life;
- Activity: A game showing how the roles of community members were disrupted
- Indigenous Traditions:
- To learn the importance of Indigenous history and culture for the Indigenous future;
- Activity: Comparing old and new values.
- Traditional Medicine;
- Gratitude, self care, time to meditate on life questions are all questions for a sweat lodge and a 3 day fast. (This is in preparation for a sweat and 3 day fast not an actual sweat)
